Restoring video after updating Lucid Lynx (Ubuntu 10.04)
on Dell Mini 10 (Inspiron 1010)

I let some updates download and install, and lo and behold, the GMA500 (PSB poulsbo) video stopped working again. In order to restore it, there are several options. The first and easiest, if possible is the following: I discovered that, despite my best efforts, I couldn't get wireless networking to function from the recovery terminal. The first option would be to find a live ethernet connection and simply run the commands above, failing that, the following will work. Once everything is booted back up with the video working, be sure to add the repository and grab the packages. To fix it should it break in the future, you can completely remove psb-kernel-source and reinstall it without re-downloading the packages. During its dpkg install it re-writes it's headers for the version of Ubuntu you've got installed.
